Project Updates

My BWOF dress 106 is almost done!!! Just have to hem it! I had to add darts to the back.. I just don't like wearing dresses that are to shapeless. And I felt like it needed a belt so I made a lace tie belt... pics soon!!!
I also embroidered a beautiful skirt with peacock feathers! I think its very eye catching.. pics of that too soon!

~ For now .... while I freeze in this 21 degree weather I am crocheting this jacket below from Crochet! magazine... this magazine was one Sheila was sweet enough to send me when I was trying to figure this crochet thing out!
This easy jacket consists of 4 large squares, 4 medium and 4 small... assemble them then crochet the trim. I'm half way done with my squares!!! I'm making the jacket in black as you can see and I'm going to trim in black fur yarn.

To the left is my hat/scarf... I'm almost done with the second scarf side then I'll be trimming it in white fur yarn.... and the next time I have to go out in 21 degree weather this will be super nice to wear!

Below are some projects in recent magazines I bought.... I want to make these...

This months Quick Quilts has this easy but beautiful quilt that I hope to find time to make sometime. I've only made a lap quilt and that was many moons ago! lol!
I love these fabrics for a quilt! It would be perfect in my bedroom!

This months Quick Stuff to Sew has this super simple purse pattern.
I love these! Endless possibilities here!

I typically don't like spending alot of time making purses, though I have a few times, so this pattern is perfect for me.

And finally... could this be my LBD????
I actually have the pattern picked out for my LBD... but then
I saw this months Australian Stitches....
This is a special lace sewn together to make a fabric, ribbon
weaved in... pleated panels at the bottom.....
I'm in LOVE with this dress!!!

A Great Weekend!

The Bald Man and I had a fantastic weekend! Friday we just kinda hung around the house.. watched a movie. Saturday was 'going out' night! We went couple of places and then ended up at the Mirage. Its been awhile since I've been there but we told Rach we would come see her dance. Here she is to the right in a bra and belt I made which looks great on her!! I hate to say it but I really don't like watching bellydancers after all the years of dancing myself and watching them. I find it boring... unless the dancer has what I call the "it" factor. Let me tell ya! Rach has the "it" factor! She sparkles and grows when she dances. Most people can learn to dance... but not everyone shines when they do it. I'll be back to see Rach dance again! Below we have a pic of Capt. Bald Man! Yesterday we took one of the boats out for a joy ride on Lake Loudon. We had fun... and some surprises along the way!! It was a beautiful day to be on the lake!!! Next Sunda...

Tunisian and Tapestry crochet on the hooks

It seems that no matter what or how many projects I have going one is always Tunisian and one is always a tapestry or fair isle type with color changes or pictures.  I love this tapestry handbag. It’s going to be The perfect bag for October!! The pattern was included in a booklet that cane with a Simply Crochet magazine from the UK. It’s eating a lot of yarn so Caron one pound yarn is perfect! Cause there’s a lot of it and it’s an easy care for acrylic. Handbags tend to get thrown around a lot so washable with all this white is super important when I was choosing a yarn.  I’ll be adding a liner too. And pockets .. I can not have a bag without inside pockets!  For oh so long I’ve wanted to try the double hook Tunisian technique. I have Lily Chins dvd on it but she’s way over my head at this point! This simple pattern is in Interweave crochet magazine fall 2018. Great pattern to get started with!  The Bavarian blanket is still on a hook and will be a long time because ...
