Project Updates

My BWOF dress 106 is almost done!!! Just have to hem it! I had to add darts to the back.. I just don't like wearing dresses that are to shapeless. And I felt like it needed a belt so I made a lace tie belt... pics soon!!! I also embroidered a beautiful skirt with peacock feathers! I think its very eye catching.. pics of that too soon! ~ For now .... while I freeze in this 21 degree weather I am crocheting this jacket below from Crochet! magazine... this magazine was one Sheila was sweet enough to send me when I was trying to figure this crochet thing out! This easy jacket consists of 4 large squares, 4 medium and 4 small... assemble them then crochet the trim. I'm half way done with my squares!!! I'm making the jacket in black as you can see and I'm going to trim in black fur yarn. To the left is my hat/scarf... I'm almost done with the second scarf side then I'll be trimming it in white fur yarn.... and the next time I have to go out in 21 degree weather this ...

Inspiring Images and Planning!

While in Panama I picked up some sewing/pattern magazines at the pharmacy!!! I had bought a Patrones off ebay before to see what all the hype was about.... but didn't see anything my body could pull off in it... I mean, fashion forward clothing is great... if you have the frame to carry them, and my curvy, 5'5 body can't carry alot of them... so back up on ebay it went. Plus Patrones patterns do tend to be more difficult. The dress above is cute, simple and I think I could pull it off.. maybe..... The dress above I could not pull off and I would have to hire someone with much experience to help me sew it... there's alot of patterns like that in Patrones .... but its soooo pretty! Love , love this dress!!! Style and the fabric choices! Ditto for this one!!! I think I could sew these 2.... The following pics are from the Moldes Magazine... which I love... cute s...

SO much sewing STUFF!!!!

I'll start with what I got in the mail from ebay... 6 back issue Threads magazines and the Kwik Sew pattern for a mans jean jacket... cause of course the Bald Man wants a distressed jean jacket!! Then... my Grand Mother sent me this shoe box full of vintage patterns that was from her pattern stash! And... yep they are my size! Now, let me say thanks to my Mom for being on the lookout for fabulous sewing goodies for me when she hits the flea markets. She hit the jackpot this weekend!!! She got me these 2 Magic fit "kits" to the right. I have no ideal how to use them! They have french curves in them.. dart templates, pattern paper and instruction books... They are so neat!! To the left is a huge amount of back issue Machine Embroidery, Sews News and many other sewing magazines. Now the magazines came for her stash... but she got all those cool vintage patterns you see at the flea market!! There are a few my size.. the others I would have to size up 1 or 2 sizes. These...
