No sewing today....... I must prepare....... because..........

Its time for The Big Hairy Belly Dance Party... the party themed for belly dancers and the fake hair they love!

Here are the purses I made for the prizes/surprizes... along with some fringe pieces that I might put in the purses and hip scarves.
Don't know... we're planning to play Twister and a few other "belly dance" games Sonja came up with... maybe I need a video camera for this party... you know.. for America's Funniest Home Videos...

So far there are 18 bellydancers coming and 6 guys... we're a little unbalanced here... I made the Bald Man call some of his friends because I don't want him to go crazy with only giggling bellydancers with fake hair for him to talk to... ofcourse most guys would probably say this is not a bad thing...

Now I have to decide which wig/hair piece will I wear myself??? and more importantly which wig will I put on the Bald Man??? hahaha

Tunisian and Tapestry crochet on the hooks

It seems that no matter what or how many projects I have going one is always Tunisian and one is always a tapestry or fair isle type with color changes or pictures. I love this tapestry handbag. It’s going to be The perfect bag for October!! The pattern was included in a booklet that cane with a Simply Crochet magazine from the UK. It’s eating a lot of yarn so Caron one pound yarn is perfect! Cause there’s a lot of it and it’s an easy care for acrylic. Handbags tend to get thrown around a lot so washable with all this white is super important when I was choosing a yarn. I’ll be adding a liner too. And pockets .. I can not have a bag without inside pockets! For oh so long I’ve wanted to try the double hook Tunisian technique. I have Lily Chins dvd on it but she’s way over my head at this point! Super squares Saturday: Hobobag and Tunisian sampler squares

Granny square project!! Who loves squares projects?? So easy so versatile for so many different items. Recently in a Facebook group I saw they had started a square along project.. any kind of squares! Being primarily a crocheter I immediately think of the granny square but I don't feel like a granny square blanket... so I disregard starting anything but then I see someone making granny squares for a tote!!! And well,, I always want need a new bag! Perfect! I remembered some cute bags in magazines I have ( I'm hopelessly addicted to magazines!) and here it is. I get new tops, the Bald Man gets a shirt!

Below is Burda 8116. A super easy tank top with a wrap topper. The pants are from BWOF. This was such an easy pattern!!! I made the below tank and topper in an hour... seriously! Ofcourse I must say having a cover stitch machine greatly speeds up sewing knits. In fact the day after I made these... I made 2 more tanks, another topper.... and the below view from the same pattern... a simple mock wrap top. The jeans were made last year from a pattern I copied from rtw. Anyways for those of you looking for a quick project... gotta get this pattern! Below here is NL 6429. It was easy too.... I actually made this last fall and never got to wear it... I wore it last night to Latino night at the Fairbanks.... good times! I wouldn't mind making another dress like this in some less 'fancy' fabric.
