Friday Night Par-tay Outfit for cheap!

So I was free from dancing last weekend...... But Friday we went to Mirage anyways to see Sonja and smoke a hooka (aka dessert without calories!) Here she is with her hubby... Mr. and Mrs. Tree Hugger! Gotta love'em! But really I wanna talk about what I wore and how awesome I am for finding a $180 pair of jeans in Rag-A-Rama thrift store for $25. LOL! Paige Denim.... all the rage in the latest greatest denim! My review: Not su' much... They lost their shape pretty quickly and so I tied this scarf around my hips. Also they are supposed to make your a** look awesome... again.... not su'much. My Allen B's and my own jean creations make my backside look much better.... So in conclusion and my opinion: Paige denim jeans are all HYPE! But if you can find them in a thrift store... why not??? They are the latest trend in jeans... The shirt I'm wearing is a handmade creation from the same store... $14. The bolero, I made.

A Great Weekend!

The Bald Man and I had a fantastic weekend! Friday we just kinda hung around the house.. watched a movie. Saturday was 'going out' night! We went couple of places and then ended up at the Mirage. Its been awhile since I've been there but we told Rach we would come see her dance. Here she is to the right in a bra and belt I made which looks great on her!! I hate to say it but I really don't like watching bellydancers after all the years of dancing myself and watching them. I find it boring... unless the dancer has what I call the "it" factor. Let me tell ya! Rach has the "it" factor! She sparkles and grows when she dances. Most people can learn to dance... but not everyone shines when they do it. I'll be back to see Rach dance again! Below we have a pic of Capt. Bald Man! Yesterday we took one of the boats out for a joy ride on Lake Loudon. We had fun... and some surprises along the way!! It was a beautiful day to be on the lake!!! Next Sunda...

Snow and a Costume

This is what we woke up to here in K-Town today... it was my poodles 1st snow... Be'Be' run back in the house but as you can see Lil' Pac here is loving it! So this morning I finished up another one of my "hired" projects... Pretty, isn't it? She wants to trim and decorate it herself. She just needed me to construct it for her... Gathered halter bra top.. straight skirt with gathers on one side down the hip... the other side just has gathers above the slit, darts for shaping on the backside, invisible zipper.... This skirt is actually a BWOF pattern.. altered ofcourse! The only thing I don't like about it is the fake ties she wanted at the back of the halter and the back hanging down... but whatever.. its her costume! I think she is going to trim and decorate it with AB crystals.. it will be stunning on her! I have another hired project (actually I have several!!) but its my turn for something!!! Esp. since the Bald Man is on his way to Chatt-Town with h...

The Big Hairy Belly Dance Party Pics!

This was the most fun party me and the Bald Man have ever hosted!!! The party have 2 parts.. the early group and the late group... To the left here we have the early group... They had to leave around 9:45 to go dance at a fund raiser at UT.... We had a few guests that came early AND stayed late!! Check out the guys above in the Guys Belly Dance Off... hahahaha Then we have the late group! My party people! The most fun party ever.. and there will be more in the future! Between my camera and Sam's camera we have ALOT of pics.. There's no way to post so many directly on my blog so I started an album just for this party and here is the link The Big Hairy Belly Dance Party Album Thanks to all who came and made this party a great time and a great memory!

YES! Its here.. Party Tonight!

No sewing today....... I must prepare....... because.......... Its time for The Big Hairy Belly Dance Party... the party themed for belly dancers and the fake hair they love! Here are the purses I made for the prizes/surprizes... along with some fringe pieces that I might put in the purses and hip scarves. Don't know... we're planning to play Twister and a few other "belly dance" games Sonja came up with... maybe I need a video camera for this party... you know.. for America's Funniest Home Videos... So far there are 18 bellydancers coming and 6 guys... we're a little unbalanced here... I made the Bald Man call some of his friends because I don't want him to go crazy with only giggling bellydancers with fake hair for him to talk to... ofcourse most guys would probably say this is not a bad thing... Now I have to decide which wig/hair piece will I wear myself??? and more importantly which wig will I put on the Bald Man??? hahaha Stay tuned for party pictur...

Just around the corner!!!!!!!!!

My projects yesterday were all for the Bald Mans Christmas so I can't post them cause sometimes he reads my blog! My projects today are for the Bald Man too! And I'm working on the 'muslin' for my Holiday Outfit!!! Which the 'muslin' will be used for a belly dance costume... no wasting here!!! Ever!

Beaded Beauty... DONE!!

Here is my new costume!!! Finally! I don't have the perfect skirt and accesories to go with it yet. I just threw together this silver skirt cause I couldn't wait to wear the 'beaded beauty' Check out the way those crystals shine!!!

Being the bellydancer

Times like last night its fun to be the bellydancer! People up dancing, laughing, clapping! There's so much energy being in the middle of it. I can dance longer and not get tired when its like this. I feel like I've done my job... their being entertained and having so much fun. I've got to share the joy my art of dance brings to me. I started dancing and performing because I feel creative, ya know, kinda like a artist! I keep dancing, esp. in the restaurant seen, because of nights like last night and people like these two in the pictures! They were a blast!
