So many plans..

It’s been to long!!!
But check out the lovely lace cardigan I’ve been working on!
And the Bavarian stitch Afghan below...

I’ve not been posting but I’ve been working!

Making tons of changes to our home, farm and life in general. Horses have taken over the farm and a good part of my heart.
I’ve decided to let go of ALL my hobbies but my number one favorite all time ... creating crochet fashion!! I want to be amazing at crochet. Which means more focus on it alone. I started this last year .. the focus to get better. And I did!! Much better!! Then spinning and sheep and other things got in the way so I had to stop and clear my space for good!

It’s all I care to do these days.. doing any other hobby only made me wish I was crocheting instead .. or with my horses!
I no longer want to spin yarn.. been there done that. My favorite yarns are made with plant fibers or silk anyways which is hard to find, hard to spin and often more expensive than just buying the yarn itself! But often so is wool based yarns too...but Im tired of wool... Wool has its place ,,I love it for felted crochet projects,  just not in my sweaters or scarves. It’s to hot in the south and to itchy for my sensitive skin. For A nice handbag or gloves.. yes! A blanket sure! Just no wool on my neck or body! Even merino is itchy on my neck.. I honestly like high quality acrylic yarns  for scarves ... there I said it!

My husband has still got pigs on his side of the farm and I’m hoping to get back into gardening on a larger scale again.
I miss it terribly.
All other livestock and farm ventures are gone. I loved my my sheep and waterfowl but horses need lots of time , attention and money. I feel like to give them the very best I needed to find homes for the livestock where they would be focused on like I want to focus on horses.

Change is good... the next chapter is exciting... God is great and my blessings are many ❤️

Tunisian and Tapestry crochet on the hooks

It seems that no matter what or how many projects I have going one is always Tunisian and one is always a tapestry or fair isle type with color changes or pictures.  I love this tapestry handbag. It’s going to be The perfect bag for October!! The pattern was included in a booklet that cane with a Simply Crochet magazine from the UK. It’s eating a lot of yarn so Caron one pound yarn is perfect! Cause there’s a lot of it and it’s an easy care for acrylic. Handbags tend to get thrown around a lot so washable with all this white is super important when I was choosing a yarn.  I’ll be adding a liner too. And pockets .. I can not have a bag without inside pockets!  For oh so long I’ve wanted to try the double hook Tunisian technique. I have Lily Chins dvd on it but she’s way over my head at this point! This simple pattern is in Interweave crochet magazine fall 2018. Great pattern to get started with!  The Bavarian blanket is still on a hook and will be a long time because ...

Happy Days & Hard Work!

Hope everyone had a fabulous New Years Eve! We had a very nice one... got all dressed up and went to the 5 course dinner event at Chez Liberty... SO GOOD! I even tried a little dish with 'sweetbreads' and had NO ideal what they were... but it was so good after I found out what they were I didn't even care! Now how many people out there know what they are??? Was I alone at not knowing??? Then we Had a bottle of bubbles... And then, I admit, came home at 11 and went to bed! I was asleep before 12!! and it makes me feel like an old fuddy duddy ! haha !! But who cares! I was all dressed up in a dress that took me 3 weeks to make with a crochet bolero that took like a month!I love wearing this dress and rarely have an occasion for it.... besides I had to get up early the next morning... And face things like this...... at our farm to be.... Now this is actually Sunday when my wonderful parents and niece Brittany stopped by to help.. but the day before it was just me and the...

I get new tops, the Bald Man gets a shirt!

Below is Burda 8116. A super easy tank top with a wrap topper. The pants are from BWOF. This was such an easy pattern!!! I made the below tank and topper in an hour... seriously! Ofcourse I must say having a cover stitch machine greatly speeds up sewing knits. In fact the day after I made these... I made 2 more tanks, another topper.... and the below view from the same pattern... a simple mock wrap top. The jeans were made last year from a pattern I copied from rtw. Anyways for those of you looking for a quick project... gotta get this pattern! Below here is NL 6429. It was easy too.... I actually made this last fall and never got to wear it... I wore it last night to Latino night at the Fairbanks.... good times! I wouldn't mind making another dress like this in some less 'fancy' fabric. Another shirt for my Bald Man... this was his B-day present... made once again using that wonderful Islander pattern. I embroidered a cross on the pocket... Some crosses on the sleeve... A...
