What I'm working on!!!!

The Bald Man's blazer is being worked on this week!
I did the darts and front sides and I finished the pockets today. Below is a pick of the bottom welt pocket with flap. There are two of these on the bottom of the jacket.

And here is the breast pocket....

They were not as hard to make as I thought they would be... I mean I can make a welt pocket and have a few times... but anytime I have to make one or any version of one I freak out... put it off... finally make it...

and think... 'hmmmm, that wasn't really hard'

Every time!!!! lol!!!!

I am taking my own sweet time with this blazer though. If I hurry with a project like this I know it will stress me out!

In crochet land I finished the most beautiful shell top that I've yet to wear!

And I'm crocheting a pair of socks!!!!!

I finished this one this morning!!! Now for the other one! Isn't it cute?

And an one going project that will likely take all year... a "Scrap-ghan" made from left overs!

Our friend the back yard raccoon has a friend and we think they have babies.... Even though

Raccoons are nocturnal apparently in urban areas they do come out and look for food during the day... especially when they have babies.

I used to have a pet raccoon so I enjoy seeing them in the back yard... I just hope my cat is smart enough to keep her distance!

I finished the braidsmaid dress I was working on for a client!!! I forgot to take a pic today before she picked it up... but I hope she sends me one from the wedding! It turned out very pretty!

And I'm working on a long sash and big bow for prom dress... small project but every little bit I earn helps keep me in fabric and yarn!!!

Wow.... I really want to make myself another dress or pair of yoga pants.... but I'll have to wait....

Tunisian and Tapestry crochet on the hooks

It seems that no matter what or how many projects I have going one is always Tunisian and one is always a tapestry or fair isle type with color changes or pictures. I love this tapestry handbag. It’s going to be The perfect bag for October!! The pattern was included in a booklet that cane with a Simply Crochet magazine from the UK. It’s eating a lot of yarn so Caron one pound yarn is perfect! Cause there’s a lot of it and it’s an easy care for acrylic. Handbags tend to get thrown around a lot so washable with all this white is super important when I was choosing a yarn. I’ll be adding a liner too. And pockets .. I can not have a bag without inside pockets! For oh so long I’ve wanted to try the double hook Tunisian technique. I have Lily Chins dvd on it but she’s way over my head at this point! WIP Wednesday: managing a growing fiber business when you are a fiber hoarder

There are so so many WIP this week! And I've finished a lot too... but with Christmas right around the corner my WIP list lengthens greatly! An ongoing WIP is my Etsy store. And dealing with over stock of fiber and fiber goods. It's a lot to keep up with. Keeping a nice assortment of things I offer , filling orders quickly and organizing everything so it's easy to find. Also coupon codes, ads and updates need to be done regularly. With the vast amount of talented people on Etsy and the internet in general it's easy to get lost if you don't stay on top of it. But fiber hoarding is the worst thing I face!! I absolutely love raw fleece and fluffy roving! So I made a rule for myself.. for every item I sell I add two new items to help me keep stocked up and help keep me from hoarding. It's really helped keep my shop from getting to low on inventory. I hope to build up over 100 items by next year though. Slow and steady!!! These two pics are from the fall shearin...

My 2017 Goals and planning to make 2018 even better!

2017 has been a wonderfully blessed year here. My husband fully got the Meishan registry off the ground and the Livestock conservancy was at our farm to look at them!! He was in Out Here magazine with them! And will be in the spring issue of Country side magazine also ! We got horses and started riding together for some much needed farm fun. I did a national seminar on milking donkeys! I found a sheep breed who's fleece I love and can also be milked that does well on my hilly rough lands! Score! All that is so wonderful!! But I had personal goals this year ! That was to get better at my favorite ever fiber art... Crochet!! When I really get my mind on accomplishing something I give it 100%. And well, expanding my crochet skills has been a lot more fun than my last 2 major goals.. which 7 years ago was to grow all our own food ( except coffee, chocolate and salt) mission accomplished! I'm not kidding And I hope I never have to do it again!! absolutely the hardest most stressf...
