Volcan & Cerro Punta, Panama

Mist covered mountains... all the time... a.k.a. The Cloud Forest.

We drove up to Volcan and Cerro Punta... all I can say is... its breath taking!!! These 2 towns are on the other side of Volcano Baru. Cerro Punta is the highest inhabited town in Panama at 6,000 ft.
The scenery was never ending beauty!

Here is a very cute hotel between Volcan and Cerro Punta.....

In Volcan the land is very rocky but still rich volcanic soil. Lots of dairy farming going on here!
You can barely see them in this pic but Cerro Punta is lush mountains covered in GARDENS!!! I'm talking lettuce, onions, cabbage, carrots, potatoes and on and on! On the side of mountains!!! How awesome to have such rich fertile soil, some rain everyday (which means no watering) perfect weather for growing... not to hot, not to cold... never freezing! And also I noticed chickens running around everywhere on most farms.. instant fertilizer! And eggs!!! I wish I had chickens...
So on one side of the volcano is Boquete... full of coffee farms and fruit trees... on the other side is Volcan, lots of dairy farms (which also means goats would do well there! I love goats!) and Cerro Punta... full of vegetable gardens!!!

Below at our little round house... Brian has made a new friend... the awesome dog belongs to the owners of Isle Verde. He likes to fetch... oranges! Which are plentiful all around... if there are no orange's on the ground he will jump up and take one right off the tree! I love dogs!

A Great Weekend!

The Bald Man and I had a fantastic weekend! Friday we just kinda hung around the house.. watched a movie. Saturday was 'going out' night! We went couple of places and then ended up at the Mirage. Its been awhile since I've been there but we told Rach we would come see her dance. Here she is to the right in a bra and belt I made which looks great on her!! I hate to say it but I really don't like watching bellydancers after all the years of dancing myself and watching them. I find it boring... unless the dancer has what I call the "it" factor. Let me tell ya! Rach has the "it" factor! She sparkles and grows when she dances. Most people can learn to dance... but not everyone shines when they do it. I'll be back to see Rach dance again! Below we have a pic of Capt. Bald Man! Yesterday we took one of the boats out for a joy ride on Lake Loudon. We had fun... and some surprises along the way!! It was a beautiful day to be on the lake!!! Next Sunda...

Tunisian and Tapestry crochet on the hooks

It seems that no matter what or how many projects I have going one is always Tunisian and one is always a tapestry or fair isle type with color changes or pictures.  I love this tapestry handbag. It’s going to be The perfect bag for October!! The pattern was included in a booklet that cane with a Simply Crochet magazine from the UK. It’s eating a lot of yarn so Caron one pound yarn is perfect! Cause there’s a lot of it and it’s an easy care for acrylic. Handbags tend to get thrown around a lot so washable with all this white is super important when I was choosing a yarn.  I’ll be adding a liner too. And pockets .. I can not have a bag without inside pockets!  For oh so long I’ve wanted to try the double hook Tunisian technique. I have Lily Chins dvd on it but she’s way over my head at this point! This simple pattern is in Interweave crochet magazine fall 2018. Great pattern to get started with!  The Bavarian blanket is still on a hook and will be a long time because ...
