In ATL!!!!!! What I wore and the Fabric haul!

First! Clothes I made and wore in ATL!

I actually made this skirt I'm wearing last fall from a BWOF... and no I don't remember which one and yep, I'm to lazy to go look! lol! The top I made last week from a BWOF too.. I've made this simple T shirt 4 times now.. Love it!

To the right... I love the skirt! Its a BWOF wrap skirt. I got the fabric up in Boston... The t is from the same BWOF pattern as the one above... I am not loving the black t with this skirt and I'm going to have to make something else to go with it.

The bolero is a Burda pattern, the fabric is from Miami. I added serger crochet to the sleeves and I'm loving it!

Gotta make a different shirt though....

Divan is the place to be in ATL on Sunday night... as you can see from these 2 pics!

There's nothing quite like hanging out and all of a sudden someone breaks out into drum beats..
Now thats entertainment!!!! And it sounded SO good! Atlanta always amazes me.... and makes me happy!

Here we are below at fabulous Divan... where the food is divine, the people are beautiful, the music exotic and the hookah is unbelievably good!!!! If we lived in ATL we would be there every week!!!

Now for the FABRIC!!!! Most sewing enthusiasts in the south know about Gail K's in ATL.... its wonderful! Anything you need is there.. and most of what you want!

The fabric to the left was not purchased at Gails.. its for a bellydance costume for Rach... the beautiful bronze appliques were purchased at Gails! They have an awesome selection of appliques there!!! This is going to be a very striking costume on my red headed friend!

This was purchased at Gails... and also not for me... for Sonya's costume.... a gorgeous, very unique animal print... Which will
be awesome on her!

Should she change her mind it would make a lovely wrap dress for me!

I love this piece!!! Sonya's a little bitty thing.. maybe there will be enough left over for a bolero atlest!!

The fabric here is a great cotton, with a hint of lycra and the feel of suede!

I'm thinking capris... or maybe a jacket with a zipper...

we'll see!!!

A beautiful fabric here!!!! Transparent animal print with little ribbons all over!!! Silky feel and slight stretch.

yep... long full skirt!

Love , love , love this fabric! It doesn't look like much in the pic but really... its great!

Cotton stretch, light weight with worn little holes all in it!!!

I'm thinking corset top??????

I also bought a tan/golden lycra brocade for a possible fitted vest...and a silver/grey stretch velvet that has a snake skin pattern in black all over ... and it will make a sexy figure hugging
dress!

I do LOVE Gail K's.... and Atl......

Happy Days & Hard Work!

Hope everyone had a fabulous New Years Eve! We had a very nice one... got all dressed up and went to the 5 course dinner event at Chez Liberty... SO GOOD! I even tried a little dish with 'sweetbreads' and had NO ideal what they were... but it was so good after I found out what they were I didn't even care! Now how many people out there know what they are??? Was I alone at not knowing??? Then we Had a bottle of bubbles... And then, I admit, came home at 11 and went to bed! I was asleep before 12!! and it makes me feel like an old fuddy duddy ! haha !! But who cares! I was all dressed up in a dress that took me 3 weeks to make with a crochet bolero that took like a month!I love wearing this dress and rarely have an occasion for it.... besides I had to get up early the next morning... And face things like this...... at our farm to be.... Now this is actually Sunday when my wonderful parents and niece Brittany stopped by to help.. but the day before it was just me and the...

Marathon cooking Monday!

I am very much in to healthy whole food eating. But if I don't plan some meals.. Especially lunches I grab easy things like nuts or a green juice.. not enough to keep this body going! something I started a few weeks ago on Monday was what I call marathon cooking. I make up a couple of high protein desserts and snacks , a couple of easy things for a few lunches and dinner with enough leftovers for the next days dinner or more lunches. A couple hours in the kitchen and solid healthy food for days! While things are in baking/cooking mode I use that down time to organize patterns , work a simple project or promote/check social media. Don't let ok at it as, yuck 2 hours of cooking .. I look at it as 2 productive hours of multitasking.  Today's marathon cooking consisted of,, simple egg salad that we like put on a low carb wrap with spinach. Huge Baked sweet potatoes which I'll cut in half and eat for lunch or a snack with butter and goat cheese mashed up! Super yum!  A huge ...

Knocking it off dress

I feel in love with this Chanel look last spring.... so instead of making a Chanel jacket I decided to put that time toward knocking this off the best I could.... I am pleased with my results! Fabric from Miami's Rex Fabrics for the top..... and ofcourse fabric for the jacket and skirt... I found a close to perfect match at walmart! Of all places! Add so hip chain belts and here is my knock off! I made the skirt longer than the original.... and no collar on the little jacket... lower neckline on the top... and a bit longer on it too.... I have several other Chanel outfits I want to knock off too... soon as I can find similar fabrics for them! I had fun with this outfit and fun wearing it! Next V8489.... I bought this fabric on a trip to Panama City, Panama. This was an easy pattern and I will use it again in the future. I added a personal touch to the dress but it didn't photograph at all... asymmetrical from shoulder across the waist and to bottom I hand beaded swarvoski crys...
