Its all in the Details!

These are my Hot Kiss rtw jeans... I copied a pattern from them last week. I really like these and have wanted more jeans without a waist band like this but haven't been able to find any...
so I'll make my own... ahhh!
The joys of copying RTW!

I started work on them this morning and this is what I have done so far.... Aren't the pockets cute??? I got the ideal for doing the pockets like this from a pair of Japanese jeans that were for sale on ebay... (the buy it now price was $49,000 for those jeans!!! Crazy!!!!)

I still have to do the rivets.

For a design change I double top stitched down each side seam instead of the inseam. I also put the coin pocket on the left instead of the right.
Thats the beautiful thing about making jeans... there are so many design changes you can make very easily to give them a unique designer look.

I haven't put my jeans button on yet either... Check the Allen B's on the right...
I am going to do it like this...with a loop closure...
different and cute!
The back pockets will be a medium spade shape pocket. I also plan to put a flap over the top of the pocket. Because we all know a flap on top of your jeans back pockets will make the booty look higher and more shapely!
The flap will be made from the stripe fabric I used on the front pockets and will have jean buttons on them.
For some reason I don't get in a hurry to make jeans like I do tops, purses or anything else! I really enjoy the process of creating the jeans.... picking out the details.... design changes.
Hopefully I'll finish these up tomorrow... then I can decide if I will distress them any, put embroidery on them or maybe use felted embellishments ... oh! the possibilities!

The vintage Retro shirt is done! Pics will be posted soon!
I also have to take up the Bald Mans shirt! And add stuff to the costumes Rachel bought from me last week.... I know I should have done these things first... but the jeans were calling to me!!!
*come make me fabulous Angie.. you know you don't have any jeans to wear this weekend!!!!*
Now how could I resist? lol!

Happy Days & Hard Work!

Hope everyone had a fabulous New Years Eve! We had a very nice one... got all dressed up and went to the 5 course dinner event at Chez Liberty... SO GOOD! I even tried a little dish with 'sweetbreads' and had NO ideal what they were... but it was so good after I found out what they were I didn't even care! Now how many people out there know what they are??? Was I alone at not knowing??? Then we Had a bottle of bubbles... And then, I admit, came home at 11 and went to bed! I was asleep before 12!! and it makes me feel like an old fuddy duddy ! haha !! But who cares! I was all dressed up in a dress that took me 3 weeks to make with a crochet bolero that took like a month!I love wearing this dress and rarely have an occasion for it.... besides I had to get up early the next morning... And face things like this...... at our farm to be.... Now this is actually Sunday when my wonderful parents and niece Brittany stopped by to help.. but the day before it was just me and the...

Wrestling Bigg'n... or Brian's BIG match up!

Well yesterday Brian had a wrestling meet and actually wrestled on Varsity... It started at 5:30 way over in Maryville ... we got there at 6 but he still weighed in and everything was fine. However,,,, we sat for an hour and half before he wrestled... there were 4 teams there! Then it was a forfeit... way to weigh the right amount son! The second match up was in about another hour and half with a kid who had about 50 lbs on Brian... he was a bigg'n !!! 205! Brian is 151. And to the Bald Man and my surprise... Brian was fierce! Aggressive, Quick! I usually take a pic.. but I was so shocked I forgot to! Now once Bigg'n maneuvered Brian in a pin position there was no getting out for him and Bigg'n won. But I'm still super proud of him for fighting so hard and aggressive.

Work in Progress Wednesday: Natural Dyeing, organization and new fleece!

Ok! Well I had so much fun posting yesterday's theme post I decided to do one today too! Organization is a big deal for me. I live in a small house but I have big crafty area needs!  I need areas to dye , to store fiber, yarn , to blend fibers and card, to spin, to occasionally sew, to make and store soaps .. and on and on!  Dyeing is done now on my back porch and green house.  I have a stove, stainless steel work table , shelving and screens. Picking and drying fleece also takes place there. Solar dyeing saves time and energy too! Only certain plants will successfully dye this way though. This works well! Gets the dyeing components out of my house kitchen! And gives me a large area to spread out and do several things at once. Organizing work in progress projects has been a challenge until now! No fiber person I know only has one project going at a time. It can get messy and confusing! I try to limit myself to 4 crochet ( or knitting) projects at once. I come up with this...
