Next Project!

Well, I have been working on a BWOF 5/03 denim dress the last 2 days and should finish it up tomorrow... I typically don't make dresses... but I had this denim I ordered for Denver Fabrics... hoping it would be "up to standard" for jeans. It was not.
There was no way this denim would hold its shape with all the wear and tear I put on jeans.
But for a dress it should be fine... Pics of the dress soon!

Next in the world of jeans... I am again taking apart old jeans to make new ones so I can make them with good quality denim. Jeans aren't hard to make but the are time consuming and I can't stand the thoughts of making another pair with crappy denim!

The next pair I do I think I would like to do some hand painting on them like the example below.... Aren't these HOT! I'll probably have a waist band on mine ... since I make most of my jeans low rise anyways.. if I removed the waist band they would be 'butt crack low'... not pretty!!! Great ideal if your pants are to high waisted though!

Look at the new lovely Allen B's.... I want these SOOOOO bad I can't stand it !!! The cheapest I've found them is $150 on ebay... so I must try and make some like this SOON!
I think I would like to make them in black denim with the black lace...
Something to think about...

A Great Weekend!

The Bald Man and I had a fantastic weekend! Friday we just kinda hung around the house.. watched a movie. Saturday was 'going out' night! We went couple of places and then ended up at the Mirage. Its been awhile since I've been there but we told Rach we would come see her dance. Here she is to the right in a bra and belt I made which looks great on her!! I hate to say it but I really don't like watching bellydancers after all the years of dancing myself and watching them. I find it boring... unless the dancer has what I call the "it" factor. Let me tell ya! Rach has the "it" factor! She sparkles and grows when she dances. Most people can learn to dance... but not everyone shines when they do it. I'll be back to see Rach dance again! Below we have a pic of Capt. Bald Man! Yesterday we took one of the boats out for a joy ride on Lake Loudon. We had fun... and some surprises along the way!! It was a beautiful day to be on the lake!!! Next Sunda...

Tunisian and Tapestry crochet on the hooks

It seems that no matter what or how many projects I have going one is always Tunisian and one is always a tapestry or fair isle type with color changes or pictures.  I love this tapestry handbag. It’s going to be The perfect bag for October!! The pattern was included in a booklet that cane with a Simply Crochet magazine from the UK. It’s eating a lot of yarn so Caron one pound yarn is perfect! Cause there’s a lot of it and it’s an easy care for acrylic. Handbags tend to get thrown around a lot so washable with all this white is super important when I was choosing a yarn.  I’ll be adding a liner too. And pockets .. I can not have a bag without inside pockets!  For oh so long I’ve wanted to try the double hook Tunisian technique. I have Lily Chins dvd on it but she’s way over my head at this point! This simple pattern is in Interweave crochet magazine fall 2018. Great pattern to get started with!  The Bavarian blanket is still on a hook and will be a long time because ...
