Sonja's Dance Party at Mirage!

Last night I actually did not have to dance! But the Bald Man and I still went to Mirage to see the only lovely dancer who works there, Sonja. She looked extra cute and danced so pretty!!
And... she got a great party started for all the costumers!!! As you will see below...
Check it out... my favorite Arabic dancing boy.. ofcourse he was there last night!

Sonja danced ALOT!!! She made me very tired...
Here she is in her gold and green costume
doing the electric slide to Arabic music!!! of all things...
Why are you laughing so hard Sonja???
Her dance instructor Alexia and her husband Stan, the wise man, were there having fun!!! They even get up and show us some moves later to some reggaton fusion music!!! I have a great pic of Alexia smoking the hookah too... but didn't know if she would want me to post it!!
Nancy's here giving us some electric slide action!!! Which let me just say Nancy is a fabulously fun lady!!!

Then we have Rachel, she's the red head with her eyes closed below!! Every pic I took of Rachel she has her eyes closed! Rachel is also fabulous.. I don't know how she does it.... 5 children under the age of 7!!!
I'm doing good to handle my 1 son!
And look at her... she had her twins not so long ago... she looks amazing and has a great personality and spirit... even if she is a hater!

Then we have Sonja in another pic... still not sitting down!!!
doing the Debka dance!!

It was a great night... The Bald Man and I had a wonderful time watching Sonja's show and enjoying all the good energy that was around us....

Tunisian and Tapestry crochet on the hooks

It seems that no matter what or how many projects I have going one is always Tunisian and one is always a tapestry or fair isle type with color changes or pictures.  I love this tapestry handbag. It’s going to be The perfect bag for October!! The pattern was included in a booklet that cane with a Simply Crochet magazine from the UK. It’s eating a lot of yarn so Caron one pound yarn is perfect! Cause there’s a lot of it and it’s an easy care for acrylic. Handbags tend to get thrown around a lot so washable with all this white is super important when I was choosing a yarn.  I’ll be adding a liner too. And pockets .. I can not have a bag without inside pockets!  For oh so long I’ve wanted to try the double hook Tunisian technique. I have Lily Chins dvd on it but she’s way over my head at this point! This simple pattern is in Interweave crochet magazine fall 2018. Great pattern to get started with!  The Bavarian blanket is still on a hook and will be a long time because ...

Super squares Saturday: Hobobag and Tunisian sampler squares

Granny square project!! Who loves squares projects?? So easy so versatile for so many different items.  Recently in a Facebook group I saw they had started a square along project.. any kind of squares! Being primarily a crocheter I immediately think of the granny square but I don't feel like a granny square blanket...  so I disregard starting anything but then I see someone making granny squares for a tote!!! And well,, I always want  need  a new bag! Perfect! I remembered some cute bags in magazines I have ( I'm hopelessly addicted to magazines!) and here it is. From the magazine For the love of crochet , My squares project.. A hobo bag!! How stinking cute is this bag!? And so simple..Blue denim color yarn  with off white and brown tweed yarns! Perfect bag for fall or winter.. should it take me that long to get it done. The holidays tend to slow down 'all about me' projects!  I have 8 more white squares to make then I can start the flowers. Need to find th...

Gardens, Costumes and a sad swap

Lovely, beautiful... ahhh, yes... my garden is finally done!!!! After much drama with landscapers... I have a gorgeous garden!!! And below, all sweaty and dirtier than I've ever seen him, is the wonderful Bald Man who thought up the landscape plan... dealt with the hateful "I'm retiring in 2 weeks!" landscaper... and he even put in a soaker hose watering system! Yep, I sure do love my man! Wasn't it nice of the landscaper to leave ALL this compost all over my back yard... a pile of it! What a mess! But, Bald Man is shoveling it up so Brian can put it on the little garden spot up front and so I can use it for more garden projects I have in mind! So its all good!! Here's a not so happy moment... remember on Swap-bot.com how much fun I had when I received my swap??? Jackie went through so much trouble to make sure I had things I would like... the black poodle beanie baby (y'all know I love my poodle babies) sparkly rhinestones I can use for costumes, a pa...
