Back From Philly, PA

Yes! Back in the southland!!! And I am so happy to be home!
The Bald Man had this Lacrosse coaches conference to go to up in Philly... this is the 3rd year we've been up there for it. It is SOOOO cold up there! Wow I was miserable! If it had not of been for the Flyers game he took me to... and FABRIC ROW (which was a beautiful place to be!) I would have stayed in the hotel room and avoided all the freezing cold... and all the extremely rude people.
And I do apologize if you are reading my blog and you are from Philly... but I mean RUUUUUDE!!! My goodness, how does a person get through the day being so hateful... the constant horn blowing... the screaming over parking... the people who don't want to give you directions... even to a restaurant that ended up being right across the street from the back of our hotel!!!!

I'm sure there is good food in Philly.... but its very hard to find when you're in the downtown area.... imagine... you go into a fancy seafood restaurant... ofcourse the service is bad (but this is not unusual for Philly at all) .... you order a $12 Ahi Tuna Ceaser Salad ... sounds good... then you get the salad and ...... reality check!!!! Its week old lettuce drowned in peanut oil and lemon juice (wheres the ceaser?????) the tuna is seared in some hideous pepper (which completely kills the taste of the tuna) and there are BEER NUTS on the salad!!!! I kid you not...
beer nuts on a $12 salad.... I have now put Philly at the top of my list for "Most likely place to pay a ton of money for bad food" (South Beach did hold this title)

I would have blogged while I was in Philly but the silly Bald Man turned over my green tea on our laptop!!!! Thank goodness it was our older, back up laptop! Not the new one Bald Man bought... which has been sent back to HP because it was a piece of crap and now he's waiting for them to send him another one...
Meanwhile I have no laptop.... so last night I bought the one I'm using now! I needed my own anyways since I have all the embroidery machine stuff now.... which I can't figure out!!!!
So.... more blogging later about the trip and the fabric I bought!!!!! I have to go learn how to use this hardware now!!!!!!!!

Happy Days & Hard Work!

Hope everyone had a fabulous New Years Eve! We had a very nice one... got all dressed up and went to the 5 course dinner event at Chez Liberty... SO GOOD! I even tried a little dish with 'sweetbreads' and had NO ideal what they were... but it was so good after I found out what they were I didn't even care! Now how many people out there know what they are??? Was I alone at not knowing??? Then we Had a bottle of bubbles... And then, I admit, came home at 11 and went to bed! I was asleep before 12!! and it makes me feel like an old fuddy duddy ! haha !! But who cares! I was all dressed up in a dress that took me 3 weeks to make with a crochet bolero that took like a month!I love wearing this dress and rarely have an occasion for it.... besides I had to get up early the next morning... And face things like this...... at our farm to be.... Now this is actually Sunday when my wonderful parents and niece Brittany stopped by to help.. but the day before it was just me and the...

Wrestling Bigg'n... or Brian's BIG match up!

Well yesterday Brian had a wrestling meet and actually wrestled on Varsity... It started at 5:30 way over in Maryville ... we got there at 6 but he still weighed in and everything was fine. However,,,, we sat for an hour and half before he wrestled... there were 4 teams there! Then it was a forfeit... way to weigh the right amount son! The second match up was in about another hour and half with a kid who had about 50 lbs on Brian... he was a bigg'n !!! 205! Brian is 151. And to the Bald Man and my surprise... Brian was fierce! Aggressive, Quick! I usually take a pic.. but I was so shocked I forgot to! Now once Bigg'n maneuvered Brian in a pin position there was no getting out for him and Bigg'n won. But I'm still super proud of him for fighting so hard and aggressive.

Work in Progress Wednesday: Natural Dyeing, organization and new fleece!

Ok! Well I had so much fun posting yesterday's theme post I decided to do one today too! Organization is a big deal for me. I live in a small house but I have big crafty area needs!  I need areas to dye , to store fiber, yarn , to blend fibers and card, to spin, to occasionally sew, to make and store soaps .. and on and on!  Dyeing is done now on my back porch and green house.  I have a stove, stainless steel work table , shelving and screens. Picking and drying fleece also takes place there. Solar dyeing saves time and energy too! Only certain plants will successfully dye this way though. This works well! Gets the dyeing components out of my house kitchen! And gives me a large area to spread out and do several things at once. Organizing work in progress projects has been a challenge until now! No fiber person I know only has one project going at a time. It can get messy and confusing! I try to limit myself to 4 crochet ( or knitting) projects at once. I come up with this...
