New Purse and a New Toy!!!

Here's my new felted purse. I made it from the same sweater I cut up to make the tulip shapes for my new jeans... btw, which are done !!! Pics will be taken tonight when we go out!!!
Back to the purse... It has a purple faux crocodile strap, a d-ring decoration holding a chain of coins with RD at the bottom and a silver heart embellishment. The edges and inside pocket are trimmed with a pretty yarn using the felting machine.

I lined with a pretty purple cotton print, made a cell phone and an extra pocket. And a magnetic snap closure....

I think felted purses are my favorite purses to make... they are so different.

And I think its cool to make something that can't exactly be remade. I'll never find another ugly sweater at Goodwill like this one.. and even if I did it may not "felt up" the same way.

Also, my Mom had a good ideal to use a mans shirt to line the purses with... and since I like to line purses with prints and stripes, thats perfect! Plus The Bald Man has a ton of shirts he's outgrown too!!!
Talk about one of a kind purses! And upcycling!!! I love it when that happens!

My new toy??? YES! A Kandi's Pro Touch rhinestone applicator!!! I'm SO excited and can't wait to use this!!!
All those $1200 jeans in Miami were covered in hot fix rhinestones!
Rhinestones applied with this little tool are permanent. Since there are no tiffany settings to deal with they go on quick, easy and don't catch on other fabrics!
I found a great link from the Rhinestone guy on using this for... what else... JEANS!

Tunisian and Tapestry crochet on the hooks

It seems that no matter what or how many projects I have going one is always Tunisian and one is always a tapestry or fair isle type with color changes or pictures.  I love this tapestry handbag. It’s going to be The perfect bag for October!! The pattern was included in a booklet that cane with a Simply Crochet magazine from the UK. It’s eating a lot of yarn so Caron one pound yarn is perfect! Cause there’s a lot of it and it’s an easy care for acrylic. Handbags tend to get thrown around a lot so washable with all this white is super important when I was choosing a yarn.  I’ll be adding a liner too. And pockets .. I can not have a bag without inside pockets!  For oh so long I’ve wanted to try the double hook Tunisian technique. I have Lily Chins dvd on it but she’s way over my head at this point! This simple pattern is in Interweave crochet magazine fall 2018. Great pattern to get started with!  The Bavarian blanket is still on a hook and will be a long time because ...

Super squares Saturday: Hobobag and Tunisian sampler squares

Granny square project!! Who loves squares projects?? So easy so versatile for so many different items.  Recently in a Facebook group I saw they had started a square along project.. any kind of squares! Being primarily a crocheter I immediately think of the granny square but I don't feel like a granny square blanket...  so I disregard starting anything but then I see someone making granny squares for a tote!!! And well,, I always want  need  a new bag! Perfect! I remembered some cute bags in magazines I have ( I'm hopelessly addicted to magazines!) and here it is. From the magazine For the love of crochet , My squares project.. A hobo bag!! How stinking cute is this bag!? And so simple..Blue denim color yarn  with off white and brown tweed yarns! Perfect bag for fall or winter.. should it take me that long to get it done. The holidays tend to slow down 'all about me' projects!  I have 8 more white squares to make then I can start the flowers. Need to find th...

I get new tops, the Bald Man gets a shirt!

Below is Burda 8116. A super easy tank top with a wrap topper. The pants are from BWOF. This was such an easy pattern!!! I made the below tank and topper in an hour... seriously! Ofcourse I must say having a cover stitch machine greatly speeds up sewing knits. In fact the day after I made these... I made 2 more tanks, another topper.... and the below view from the same pattern... a simple mock wrap top. The jeans were made last year from a pattern I copied from rtw. Anyways for those of you looking for a quick project... gotta get this pattern! Below here is NL 6429. It was easy too.... I actually made this last fall and never got to wear it... I wore it last night to Latino night at the Fairbanks.... good times! I wouldn't mind making another dress like this in some less 'fancy' fabric. Another shirt for my Bald Man... this was his B-day present... made once again using that wonderful Islander pattern. I embroidered a cross on the pocket... Some crosses on the sleeve... A...
