More preserving FUN, alittle sewing and crochet fun...

I just LOVE the way food looks all preserved in canning jars!!!! Here are a couple of my latest... Dill Pickles and Pickled Banana Peppers...so pretty... Since last post I have now started to take over the 3 big shelf in our pantry.... Few more pretties up close.... Canned Summer Squash (great for squash casseroles!) Pickled Hot Peppers (going to be a present for someone!!) and Anise Pears And I've dried and vacuum bagged about a bushel of apple rings, lots of sweet potatoes and bell peppers! Anyone know what this is???? Its a Cushaw squash!! This huge squash was only $5!! And they are sooooo good!! Many meals can come out of this on squash (it weights ALOT!)... soup, pies, just roasted is really good to! I even canned some Cushaw butter! Anything you can do with sweet potatoes or winter squash you can do with a cushaw! Yep.... Muscadine wine in the making.... also Elderberry wine, Concord wine and an Apple wine. It takes so long though... which is why The Bald Man and I have be...

Felted Swap and the Coconut Story

Well, my swap partner from the recycled hand bag swap received her Felted Handbag I made her... and I think she loved it because she gave me a 5 and a heart!!! yay!!! To the left it the sunglasses case I made to go in it.... made from a childs sweater (I felted it) and on old trench coat button To the right is the hand bag... made from an old sweater (felted), trench coat button and its lined with an old shirt... the pocket if from the scraps of another old shirt... This was a simple bag to make and ofcourse very low cost because everything was recycled!! I want one for myself now!!! THE COCONUT STORY. You see, I love baby coconuts... I eat about 3 a week! While the Bald Man and I were in FL I couldn't help but notice all these baby coconuts on the palm trees everywhere!!! It had been 4 days since I had a coconut.... my month was seriously beginning to water when I would see them... Now Bald Man could see I was getting excited every time we passed a tree full... especially if it w...

Friday Night Par-tay Outfit for cheap!

So I was free from dancing last weekend...... But Friday we went to Mirage anyways to see Sonja and smoke a hooka (aka dessert without calories!) Here she is with her hubby... Mr. and Mrs. Tree Hugger! Gotta love'em! But really I wanna talk about what I wore and how awesome I am for finding a $180 pair of jeans in Rag-A-Rama thrift store for $25. LOL! Paige Denim.... all the rage in the latest greatest denim! My review: Not su' much... They lost their shape pretty quickly and so I tied this scarf around my hips. Also they are supposed to make your a** look awesome... again.... not su'much. My Allen B's and my own jean creations make my backside look much better.... So in conclusion and my opinion: Paige denim jeans are all HYPE! But if you can find them in a thrift store... why not??? They are the latest trend in jeans... The shirt I'm wearing is a handmade creation from the same store... $14. The bolero, I made.
